A Copper Core PCB uses a solid copper substrate as the base layer for maximum thermal dissipation across the entire board. A Heavy Copper PCB uses standard FR4 or other substrates but features copper foil thickness of 3 oz or more (up to 20 oz), enabling high current carrying capacity. Both leverage copper's 400+ W/MK conductivity but serve different design requirements.

Available surface finishes include OSP (Organic Solderability Preservative), ENIG (Electroless Nickel Immersion Gold), and Immersion Tin. For Copper Coin PCBs, ENIG is the standard finish, ensuring excellent solderability and oxidation resistance. The right finish depends on your application's soldering requirements, shelf life expectations, and operating environment.

Standard Copper Core PCBs support copper foil from 1 oz to 10 oz, while Heavy Copper PCBs extend this range up to 20 oz (with foil thicknesses of 105 µm, 140 µm, 175 µm and above). Board thicknesses of 1 mm, 1.2 mm, 1.5 mm, and 2 mm are available as standard options, with custom configurations upon request.
