Heavy Copper PCBs offer significantly higher current-carrying capacity, superior heat dissipation (copper thermal conductivity of 401 W/mK), enhanced mechanical strength at PTH holes and connector sites, better thermal strain endurance for extreme environments, and the ability to consolidate high-power circuitry into compact multilayer boards — all while extending product lifespan.

Heavy Copper PCBs serve a broad range of demanding sectors including power distribution systems, electric vehicle (EV) components, military radar and weapon control, industrial welding equipment, UPS and rail traction systems, nuclear and solar energy, medical devices, aerospace and satellite systems, and torque control electronics — anywhere high current and thermal management are critical.

FX PCB supports copper foil thicknesses of 105 µm, 140 µm, 175 µm, and above (2 oz to 20 oz). Layer count varies by copper weight: up to 24 layers for 3–4 oz in sample production, up to 20 layers for 5–6 oz, and up to 12 layers for 7–12 oz. Mass production layer counts are slightly reduced per tier.

Line width and spacing specifications scale with copper weight. For 3 oz, FX PCB achieves 6/6 mil (sample) and 6/8 mil (mass production). At 6 oz, tolerances are 10/10 mil (sample) and 12/12 mil (production). At 10 oz, spacing extends to 12/18 mil. Line precision is +/-0.8 mil for samples and +/-1 mil for mass production runs.
