SMT (Surface Mount Technology) PCBA assembly involves mounting electronic components directly onto the surface of a PCB using automated pick-and-place machines and reflow soldering. THT (Through-Hole Technology) inserts component leads through drilled holes and solders them on the opposite side. SMT allows for smaller, denser boards, while THT provides stronger mechanical bonds for certain components. Many modern boards use both — known as mixed assembly.
