FR4 PCB Boards

FR4 is a glass-reinforced epoxy laminate rated for flame resistance (Flame Retardant Grade 4). It is the industry-standard PCB substrate due to its excellent mechanical strength, high insulation resistance, low moisture absorption, and cost-effectiveness. It supports a wide range of surface finishes, layer counts, and copper weights, making it suitable for consumer electronics through to aerospace applications.

FX PCB manufactures FR4 PCBs with layer counts ranging from 1 to 68 layers. Standard configurations include single-sided, double-sided, and multilayer (4, 6, 8, and above). Custom layer configurations are available to meet specific design complexity, signal routing, and density requirements for both prototype and mass production orders.

Standard FR4 has a glass transition temperature (Tg) of approximately 130–140°C, suitable for most general electronics. High-Tg FR4 (Tg150, Tg170, Tg180) withstands temperatures of 180°C or above without deformation or loss of mechanical integrity. High-Tg boards are recommended for applications with lead-free soldering, dense component placement, or operation in high-heat environments such as automotive, aerospace, and industrial control systems.
