Thermal conductivity varies by substrate material. Aluminum base MCPCBs typically achieve 1–3 W/MK, which is already 5–10x higher than conventional FR4. Copper core PCBs can reach up to 400 W/MK, offering the highest thermal performance. Ceramic PCBs using Aluminum Nitride (ALN) substrates achieve ≥170 W/(m·K), making them suitable for extreme high-frequency and high-power environments.

Aluminum core PCBs offer a cost-effective solution with good thermal performance (1–3 W/MK), lightweight construction, and excellent recyclability — ideal for LED lighting and general power applications.
